Hello Whimsy Fans!

Chic with you today.

Its been very busy lately with school holidays and house renovations.

I lost my beloved scraproom for a few weeks and it was torture. The upside is a much BIGGER scraproom! So Ive had a day to pull something together to show you all.

YES! It can be done LOL.

I decided to try my first Canvas Semi-mixed Media. Its no work of Art but it's me! As the words go "MAKE A SPLASH' & "JUST HAVE FUN'

I found the perfect Whimsy Pin to add to my Canvas.........

With this layout I went back to where it all started with a more traditional style.

It did not photograph as good as it looks. There is a neon pink thing happening...Hmmm.

I needed some nice flat buttons to poke in under my flowers so you will see one in the bottom left and one in the middle to the right. Lovely flat buttons with just the right amount of dimension and colour to match the page.

My Little Bit of Whimsy Cards

Anita here with four cards that I made with my lovely Whimsy pins and buttons. I could create with them all day because I just love them. Check out what Stephanie has been creating here. I made this get well card for a family friend who had emergency surgery recently. Fortuntely he is doing well. I just love this fish. They come in different colors and are so adorabble.

Isn't this bee just so adorable. There are so many fun ways that I could have used him. This card makes me happy.

I love making square cards with big fat bows, they just make me so happy. I love this pear pin and thought it went perfectly with these papers and that bow.

Project materials: Patterned paper: My Mind's Eye, Lime Twist, Cardstock: Bazzill, Gina K. Designs, Amuse. Pins: My Little Bit of Whimsy, Stamps: Unity Stamp Company, Inkl: Memento, Ribbon: from personal stash.
This card was a treat to make. I love the rich colors and I had fun using crackle paint on the bird cage and then ink to give it a bit of a distressed look. Here is a close up of the bird cage.

Felt a bit like spring today!

The sun is shining and it feels so good!! After days & days of rain out here on the west coast the sun is always a welcome thing!

And because of that warmth & smile that came across my face I decided to create some very simple spring-type cards.

This first one I used the Bumble Bee embellishment to add some visual interest to my card, along with Imaginisce papers (Hippity Hop collection) and a rub-on from American Crafts.

This second card I created using Core'dinations Cardstock, Imaginisce papers (Hippity Hop collection) and a bird stick pin. I wrapped some seam binding ribbon around the pin and tied it into a bow. The pin I stuck behind the back of the papers after I had adhered them to the front of the card ... as sometimes the adhesive is a bit forgiving and still will let you 'sneak' something behind.

I also wanted to share a double page layout with you that I created based on a sketch from Got Sketch? created by Valerie Salmon.

I used some buttons on this layout and they added the right 'pop' of

color and dimension that I was after.

Hi Everyone:

Anita here with my first Whimsy post. I am just so excited to share my projects with you. I had such fun using the red bird on my peace card. He is so cute just hanging out on his branch.

Project materials: BoBunny Father Christmas Collection, MLBOW red bird pin, Memory Box Dies, Pebbles Candy Dots, Stamp: My Favorite Things, Stampin' Up ribbon.

I had such fun creating this criss cross card with those gorgeous buttons. I usually choose my embellishment first and then work my project supplies around my choice.

Project Materials: My Mind's
Eye Lost and found Rosy, Gina K. cardstock, MLBOW buttons, the Twinery twine, My Favorite Things stamps and Tulle from Joann Fabric and Crafts

I absolutely fell in love with the cookie pins when Stephanie posted them on her site. This is a mini pizza box and it is just the perfect size for a cookie. Had fun using the paper with recipes, flour and chocolate chips on them for the rosette and putting a yummy chocolate colored button on top. The sentiment made me chuckle.

Project materials: Creative Imaginations patterned paper, Gina K. cardstock, Spellbinders and My Favorite Things Dies, MLBOW cookie stick pin and flower button, Amuse ribbon.

Its been a bit of a whirlwind around here in between my day job, house renos, a crop out of province last weekend and then an all weekend lampwork glass beading class that I just finished today! Whew! I'm exhausted just thinking about it all! Let's hope things quiet down for a few weeks so I can recharge my batteries and get ready for Christmas.

I did manage to get some Whimsy time in-between all of this, and have just uploaded a few items to the shop tonight. The Whimsy car pins are already sold out, however I plan on making a few more sets this week so stay tuned! (with more colors!)

Hi there Whimsy fans! Cari with you today.

I don't know about you but I'm just lovin' this fall weather. We've been blessed with some gorgeous sunshine for the last week and the changing colors of the leaves are just beautiful!

And in honor of this fall season, Thanksgiving (that we had already but our US friends will soon be celebrating) I wanted to share this card with you.

I used the Whimsy Itty Bitty bird stick pin. Isn't he just the cutest?? I think so!

Supplies used: Imaginisce (patterned paper, die-cuts and Glam Rocks), MLBOW stick pin, ribbon, Colorbox ink, circle punch (Ek Succss)

Now, I know that these next 2 project have nothing to do with fall but I wanted to share them with you anyways. These 2 layouts are based on sketches created by Valerie Salmon for Got Sketch.

On this first layout I used the Itty Bitty Ladybug Pin. I love her! She fit so perfectly with my butterfly photos.

Supplies used: Core'dinations cardstock, Jillibean Soup (patterned papers, die-cuts, stickers), Butterfly punch (eksuccess), MLBOW (ladybug stick pin).

This next layout shares a picture from this past summer during one of day trips to the beach. I used a fish stick pin, and the heart button from this sampler package.

Hello gang! SJ here - I am popping in to show you some quick cards, which when combined with Whimsies make for cute cards indeed! First up:

"love birds"

made using two pretty textured buttons, with added beak and doodled legs.

Branch and leaves hand cut from paper and inked.

Next, this October afternoon sticker was begging to be embellished with a whimsy, and I have been saving and saving this cloud one, as I love it so much - but it matched the blue button in the sticker so I braved it, and have attached it here!

some quick mini cards:

The cupcake button is another one I have kept for special.. I have only pop dotted it to this card, with the hopes that the recipient will take it off and use it :) - in which case, I might send it to myself lol

Next up, another mini card with scallop edges using one of the gorgeous textured butterflies.

and my most favourite:

I used a bird pin (with the pin hidden between the layers) on a cute wooden branch I painted

So cute! (well I think so anyway lol!!)

You're My Apple Pie!

Hello Whimsy Fans today I have a couple of layouts to share featuring your favourite buttons & critters!!!

You're My Apple Pie

Tee hee I do come up with some strange titles sometimes!!!

I used this proud little Owl... well I say little but he's actually pretty big for a whimsy embellishment but he by far my favourite!!!

I used a Stone Textured button and Pear too on this layout keeping in with the fall theme.

Next up I have a layout titled To Infinity and Beyond!!! My kid is so into space and science that when I took him to the book store we went to the childrens section he couldnt find anything that he wanted... I found a couple of books that the girls wanted and I said he could come back and choose something else later on the way to the checkout we pass the Encyclopedia's and Science books he was so excited and he purchased a space atlas... Love my little Space Geek!! hey thats my next title!! lol

I used the woodgrain buttons on here they matched the papers so well.

And lastly I used the very awesome perfect for any space geek layout rocket ship and planet pins.

I hope you enjoyed my projects today and I've inspired you to create something "whimsy"

Whimsy Sighting ~ Kristine Davidson!

Well, I didn't have to look very far for this sighting, although it was a nice surprise! My Bestie Kristine Davidson and I were able to scrapbook together last week as my day job had me travel to Saint John, NB. We scrapbooked all three evenings, the hotel even let us have a large conference room table in my room!

This layout was completed last week, but noticed on her blog posting that she added a little Whimsy Bird pin when she got home! It looks so cute with that Bella collection! Check out her blog for some scrappy inspiration...K has her mojo back and she's rockin' the Bella Blvd!

Liquid sunshine

Hey fellow whimsy fans, Lydia here....

Most of us are back into a solid fall routine, and here on the west coast that means school, rain and indoor crafts. Combine all these things together and you get these layouts.

This first one, my son went crazy in a puddle, I'm surprized that he did not catch a cold!! When he came in he looked like he had been in a swimming pool :)

I used the Whimsy clouds for this, they were perfect for this rainy wet page.

And who does not love a little heart button?

This second one is my sons first day of school this year, he looked so cute sitting there so excited!!

I created a little cluster of textured buttons and an adorable apple!!

A whimsical fringe

So - I have to admit, that cutting your own fringe is one of those things that could see you end up looking like an extra from a Muppets movie, but a fortnight ago, all the hair dressers in my town were booked or closed (Some close on a Monday!!!!) So.. due to the fact that I have inherited impatience from my father, I set to and cut my own with help from a Youtube video tutorial!

If you haven't already stocked up on Steph's newest additions to the shop you better quickly.....they are walking out the door:) So in love with some of the newest Whimsy's especially those lollipops. I have been waiting for these for ages, can't wait to get my hands on them...yummo!!! So it's my turn here this week to share with you some Whimsy inspiration:)

My first layout is untitled. I have never ever not given a layout a title so this one is still feeling weird to me. I always leave my titles to last and this one is just so busy I just couldn't come up with a thing...lol!!! I did however manage to sneak in a birdie pin and 2 of the coolest little planet pins:):) + some textured buttons for good measure!

Mason is 16 weeks already....seriously time flies when you are having fun:) Tucked away in here I have a mushroom button (just glued on.....my layouts are so layered that sometimes I just can't get the needle and thread in there to attach it properly). September Whimsy Shop Update

Wow! Has this month just flown by! I can't believe we are already 3 months from Christmas! Yikes!

Things have been busy in the Whimsy Shop this month. I have a few new designs uploaded already, and a few more on the way! Here are some of the items I've added to the shop today...New sampler packs, new clouds and a couple of new bird pins!

I'm just loving this new Wasabi Green, just what I needed to jump start my Whimsy Mojo! Here is a layout I made last weekend using one of my Wasabi Green birds :) I attached it to the page with some super cute Hambly washi tape!

Summer & Fall

Our summer came quite late this year and I believe we had the hottest weather the first week the kids were back at school. But it made me remember the fun times that we did have this year at the beach. You always love going and playing in the sand, building water ways, castles and finding shells.

I created this layout using Bella Blvd papers & stickers along with some yummy Whimsy Fun clouds. They just finished off my title perfectly.

Now that the kids are back in school I've noticed the mornings have been a bit cooler - although I'm still wearing my shorts and haven't put away any summer clothes yet. Yes, I'm holding on ... in hope. I think we'll be having a very nice fall here this year and I love that because it's just so beautiful here. I love the changing color of the leaves, wearing cozy sweaters, hunting for pumpkins and drinking yummy pumpkin spice lattes! Don't you?

Here's a layout that I created about one of our favorite fall adventures - picking hazelnuts. Again I used some Bella Blvd product and added my favorite little Whimsy owl stick pin. Isn't he just the cutest thing ever??

I have a rather large Whimsy collection!! Most of them I collect in a treasure chest but I didnt really like having my Whimsy Pins in there with all the critters and buttons, so while at Micheals I came accross these super cute little frames for only $1.50 each, So I swapped out the paper for a piece of foam and put my pins in!!! I have to say they look pretty awesome on my shelf with my buckets of ribbons and twine.

The layout I'm showing today is Titled Adevntures in the Corn and was just published in the Fall copy of Canadian Scrapbooker. :)

I just can't get enough of these little Mushrooms I absolutely LOVE them!!!

Hey there whimsy fans Lydia here with some more whimsy ideas, todays little idea came from my good friend nessesity. I wanted to use a bit of a coral pink color and my buttons did not quite match so I used my copics to add a little straw color.

This changed the color to exactly what I wanted.

Plus I added a little of the teal color to some of the wonderful dimension on the butterfly.

And nothing could be truly wild and woodsy, without the addition of a bug

and my favorite button of all time is the wood grain, just needed to be added!!

Hope you are enjoying the last moments of summer, school time is almost upon us.

Then we can all find more time to scrap :) hahaha

Enjoying Summer!

Hi there!! Cari here and I'm thrilled to be able to share my first Whimsy post with you today!!

I love these summer days when we can go to the beach and enjoy the warmth of the sun, the ocean breeze, and then cool off in the water & waves.

I took some pictures a few weeks ago when my kids were playing at the beach. They just love it there and were having so much fun.

This set of pictures are about my youngest. He was playing with his truck in the sand and then saw some waves coming in and got excited. He looked so cute as he jumped up and tried to hop over them. I loved his adorable grin when he turned around to look at me afterwards.

Here's a layout that I created from that day using a combination of Core'dinations Cardstock, some Jillibean Soup alphabet stickers, My Little Shoebox alphabet stickers and October Afternoon patterned papers.

I used the adorable Whimsy fish pin because my youngest just loves the water and swimming. It was perfect for him ... plus it's just stinkin' cute!! I've added a few other Whimsy buttons (ie. textured, star, etc)

And a few close up shots of my layout so you can see some detail.

It is my turn on the blog today to show you some whimsy..

Before I do, I have to say, I love the whimsies, and I mean love. I am not just saying that because I am lucky enough to design for Stephanie either, I am genuinely in love with them. I have tried in the past many times to make things from clay - and they always always fail. I have no idea how Stephanie gets it right every time, but I am grateful that she does!

That said - I would like to share a recent layout I have made.

It is a Polaroid from about 1998... I think... I know I was at college, because, all the other Polaroids from this time are college Polaroids.. and too dodgy to upload lol!

Anyway - It is of my dear old pa. Who is notorious for his inability to be serious in photos.

I do however love this about him, as it shows his true personality and his desire to make us all smile all the time. Awwww, aren't dads brilliant!?

Talking of brilliant - here are two whimsy clouds..

I would say these are my favourite whimsy - but have you seen them all? Far too hard to choose!

Hey Whimsy fans, Zoe here today showing some amazing whimsies off :)

First up I used this little green birdie who is just the most adorable thing I have ever seen!! He just works with the colours of the My Mind's Eye papers so nicely

Here's a closer look at him!

What I love about whimsy buttons the most are the details in them!!! This little star whimsy is teeny small, yet so perfect!!!

I can not add just one whimsy to a layout anymore.......I like to have them peeking out from everywhere to say "chirp" or "hi"

Here's my second layout for today using the new Sassafras Sunshine Broadcast.....it's really no surprise how well the colours of the Whimsies and Sassafras go together!!

Exploration to dreams

Hey there whimsy fans, Lydia here with my monthly installment of inspiration. This month I used a wide variety of buttons on my projects. First up is this layout with October Afternoons Rocket age. I used a whimsy cloud as part of the blast off with the Rocket.

I also used a couple of great textured buttons. The rockets, would look awesome with this collection but Bad me, last time they sold out so fast I didn't get one, I won't make that mistake again, Stephanie just restocked :)

Next up is something a little more on the woodsy side, using Imaginisce's new happy camper line.

I used the pin leaves at the end of branch's paired with a wood texture button and acorn to create a perch for my owl.

Lastly the humble whimsy bird makes an appearance, he is just the perfect accent for my title.

We arrived from London Thursday evening, and I swear I didn't want to do a single thing all weekend! Hi Whimsy friends, I know some of you are having a wonderful time on your summer vacations.....I can't wait for summer to roll on around here in Australia:):) So alot has happened since I last posted here, we have since had our 3rd gorgeous boy, Mason. He is now 6 weeks old and totally adorable as you can see in this layout:):) I just want to squish his little cheeks all day long!!

So my first layout "M" I have used some textured buttons, a cupcake button, ice cream pin and a cupcake pin......this colour combo would be my all time fave and the Whimsy embellies just match perfectly!!

My second layout "Treats for my Sweets" is full of more gorgeous colour and the cutest cupcake buttons ever (1 blue, 1 green)....I also added a doughnut pin!!

I hope you enjoyed my colour post today and it may have just brightened your day. Next time I am back here my baby will be that bit bigger.......

Whimsy Shop Summer Update!

Well hello there strangers! Its been quite some time since I last posted on the Whimsy Blog! My apologies, it was not my intention to neglect you all! Our house has been undergoing renovations for a couple of months now, and it really is all consuming! One of the areas was my crafty space, and I'm just now feeling like everything is where is should be etc I don't know about you, but if my scrappy/Whimsy space is unorganized, my creative mojo is nowhere to be found!

I'm back on track now, and here is what I've been working on the last few weeks! You will notice some new Sampler packs, new Textured Clouds, new Mushrooms, new Bird Pins and I finally made a number of these little Whimsy Rockets! They are flying off the shelves though, so get yours while they are still available :)

Many of you have asked me for Whimsy Fish, and here are the first batch of colors, I'm hoping to have a variety of colors by August.

Hi Whimsy fans, it's Zoe here today with some whimsy layouts to share!!! I absolutely ADORE My little Bit of Whimsy critters, the birds the owls the ladybugs!! they are all too cute for words, So I'll stop talking and show my first layout - Woodland Finds

Look at this incredible Owl he is actually sold out for the moment, but in the meantime you can stock up on the pin version here!

I also used an adorable little ladybug pin and a super cute mushroom.

Layout number two features some fantastic new cloud buttons, OH MY I'm in love!!!

Whimsy Pin Cushion!

Like many of you, I like to collect my Whimsy Pins....not necessarily use them on a project, but keep them nearby because they make me smile :) Well, instead of the industrial foam I keep them stored on before they are packaged, I decided to make them a cute pin cushion for the "keepers"! I'm quite please with how it turned out, and just had to share!

Whimsy Fishy Sneaks!

Hi Folks!
Steph here with a little Sneak Peak of my latest Whimsy R&D....I've been trying to work out how to make cute Whimsy Fish for some time now and I think I've finally narrowed it down to this pin style to begin with! All it took was a trip to Jamaica to be inspired! (Tee hee)

Our favorite part of the Caribbean swimming experience were the beautiful fish that would follow us around as we relaxed in the water (It is still a debate as to whether they were begging for food or just attracted to Dave's brightly colored swimming shorts! LOL)

This will be one of many Whimsy Fish styles I hope! I was so excited to share with all of you that I haven't even BAKED these little guys yet!

Whimsical Monday

Good Morning Whimsy folks...........Lydia here with this mornings blog post. Today I have a couple of things to share with you. First up is this frame that I made a little while ago to hold all my whimsies, I love looking at them so I purchased this cheap tiny easel and frame at my local dollar store. I removed the glass and replaced it with fabric covered foam, then I put all my pins in it. It now sits on my desk for easy access and inspiration.

Next up is this layout inspired by one of Becky Fleck's sketches, it called for lots of buttons so it was perfect for whimsies.

Last up is this easy MLBOW card featuring these fabulous heart buttons

Color color color!!

Its coming into Winter here in Australia, my least favorite season I'm afraid! I'm an out-doorsy type and don't do well inside on a rainy day....it is, however, a great excuse to scrap the day away ;)

I've tried to brighten up my day by diving into a couple of colorful new ranges by Pink Paislee and Sassafras Lass, which go perfectly with Stephs bright Whimsy creations....

Well hiya. Frances here with some MLBOW inspiration! I'm not sure if you have snooped through the store lately, but there is lots of stuff to see!! As a matter of fact, if you don't hurry I will buy the "Perching Red Bird" Embellishment right out from under you and not even think twice about it...he is sooooo cute! My Whimsy Boy Layouts

Hi my Whimsy friends! It's Aphra here today with a couple of layouts about my boys. Both feature some super cute Whimsy buttons and My Mind's Eye papers.

Blue Eyed Boy

I'm still in LOVE with these argyle Textured Buttons. Just sayin! On this fun flower, I punched five 1" circles, arranged them into a flower, added a Whimsy button, and then topped it with a brad. The prongs on the brad fit perfectly into the button holes. That made me happy!

Ok, even though this is a boy page, I didn't mind adding a flower. It's a brown flower. Totally works on a boy page, right? Right!

The color of this Stone Textured Button is a perfect match for this patterned paper. Gotta love that! I just love that these Whimsy buttons have so much color and texture all on their own. I don't have to dress them up. Nope. I just stick them down and they are awesome!

The polka dot button is fantastic for a bright disney page using Imaginsce papers

and the perfect touch for this fairy birthday card was an itty bitty button in teal

Hi everyone, Stacey here with a couple of new layouts:) The first one I used a super duper cute brand new mushie pin that I don't think Steph has put into her shop yet....I think I may have been road testing it and all I can say is it is gorgeous, bigger than the usual and bright (perfect for my pages) so I hope she makes some more for you all to try out!! I also used an original yellow mushroom button too:)

My second layout is of my darling boys again. I have used the favourite ladybug embellie, a owl pin and a brown flower button. All of Steph's buttons and pins are so versatile and really can go with any project:) OMG I just realised I spelt squeeze wrong in my title.......oh gosh, I blame the pregnancy...lol!!!!! Oops have to fix that now!

Hi there Whimsy fans! It's Aphra, and I'm here with a couple of boy layouts and a sketch challenge. Woo hooo!!! Fun, eh?

Honk, Honk

The bright reds and blues of these fun Whimsies are a perfect match for Echo Park's Little Boy line. I used a Blue Textured Cloud Button, a Small Red Button, and a Blue Star Button. Too cute!

Fall

On this one, I added a burgundy Mushroom Button and a Brown Flower Button to my leaf clusters. I really like how they accented my Fall theme.

Hi Folks!

I've been working on restocking the shop for a solid few days now, and I'm happy to report that many of the favs are back in the shop! Lots of Ladybugs, Bumble Bees, Textured buttons, Mushrooms and Apple pins, cupcakes and the super popular donut pins!

Here are a few of the new designs I just uploaded into the shop tonight :) Hope you like them!

Here are a couple of work in progress photos I thought some of you would be interested in seeing...Look at all those lady bugs! There were a few evenings where I thought I could have made those little cuties in my sleep if I had to! I think my favorite part is putting on their cutie little googlie eyes LOL

From the most wonderful vacation ever :) We went to the Cocos Keeling Islands and I had 2 weeks of gorgeous sun, sand and wine, I can't wait to go back again! I managed to get a fair few nice shots I think, which I was itching to get onto pages, so last night I sat down with my Whimsies and a Studio Calico kit and came up with this...

It's like a game of "Spot the Whimsy's"...........

I love to add several Whimsy's to my scrapbook pages and because my layouts are so busy ít almost feels like you could play this game!!! The first one is of my big boy who just started Kindy last week (when I created this he hadn't started yet). I have used a cloud button, mushroom button, a leaf pin and that super gorgeous big owl embellishment:)

I have had this little fella for a little while and thought his colours were perfect for this one:)

My 2nd layout is of our 3rd little bubba at our 12 week scan (I am now just over half way). I went for neutral tones on this, neither boy or girl! I have used 3 spotty purple buttons aswell as a favourite birdie pin:)

There is the birdie pin, cute heÿ? Nearly as cute as my bubba beside it:)

I would of liked to have something else to share with you today but unfortunately I didn't get to use the package that I received from Steph on Monday as I have been sick....again....anyway, I bought some cute new goodies and can't wait to use them:)

Helloooooo from the past!!

Hello ello! As I write this Im about to head off on a long awaited family vacation, hence I'm pre-posting....from the past....for the future.....isn't blog land wonderful?? ;)

Anyways, my apologies, this whole packing for holidays thing has always managed to get me in a tizzle, so this time I was determined to be well organised and ready to go....it's 11:20pm the night before we leave and Im afraid I've failed, so I've just got the one page to share today :( On the plus side it's one of my favorite pages that Ive done recently...

OK, so I know I didn't have to look very far for this sighting considering Kristine is my very best scrappy friends....but I just had to share her work on the Whimsy blog!

Don't you just love all her little details? The ink splatters, tiny stitching and design placement just blows me away everytime!

These last couple of months have been busy ones with the holiday season, however I'm hoping to get back into the regular blogging schedule for 2011. I'm thinking maybe a studio share next week is in order, as many of you often ask about where I do my Whimsy work!

Working with my favorite Whimsies

Hey there Whimsy fans, Lydia here with my first blog post for my little bit of Whimsy. I thought I would take a sentence or two to introduce myself. I live on Vancouver Island {in Canada}with my husband and two active boys, ages 3 and 5. I've been scrapbooking since I was 18 {I won't tell you how long ago that was} and for the last two years I have enjoyed blogging and sharing my creations at {Scrap Notions}. My style is clean and bright and I keep it pretty simple to let my favorite products and cherished photos shine. I am thrilled to be a part of this incredible team and over the moon about getting to work with Stephanie's adorable designs.

So now on to the good stuff!

The first thing that I want to share with you is this mini album that I created. Maya Rd makes this chipboard hive and there could not bee {giggle} a more perfect place for one of my favorite whimsy pins.

I then used a collection of the itty bitty buttons to decorate the inside.

In this layout, these buttons are the perfect accent for the new Echo park Little boy collection, I love the white wash argyle texture.

Lastly, this little fairy needed a magic wand. What could be more magic than a cupcake wand right?

Upon doing a little bloggy research, I realized that I am the only chick on the design team to have girls! I have to say...that seems really weird to me for some reason. I find that mothers of boys usually think that they get the shaft when it comes to scrappy products, and I guess they kinda do. But with that being said, they are sure using the whimsies to their advantage, right? Those little diddies are perfect...boys or girls! Well, today ladies I am pinkin' it up!! There will be no blue, no critters, no stinky, sweaty, rough and tumble boys! Only pink, frills, flowers, and more pink, crowns and sweet girls! Take a look...

Outer Space: Whimsy Style!

I've noticed that making "girly" Whimsies seems to be something I naturally gravitate toward, so I often have Customers looking for more "boyish" hues or themes.....so here is the first of many pin sets for the boys in your life! hehe these were so much fun to make! A bit quirky, but then again, it is "Whimsy Style" Outer Space!

My Favorite Whimsies

Howdy Scrappers! It's Aphra here with two layouts using some of my favorite Whimsies: textured buttons and stick pins. Eeek! Cute!!!

Happy at Home

I love Stephani's Itty Bitty Textured Buttons. They are the perfect size for finising off a flower. And don't they look great with some Baker's Twine tied through them?

For this larger flower, I used a bright yellow argyle print button from the Textured Soft Boyish Buttons set. And that seemed like the perfect home for an Itty Bitty Bird Pin. He's so sweet! And my friend and fellow DT member taught me an easy little trick to get my birdie pin to stay put -- apply a tiny glue dot to his back and then stick him down. Thanks girlee!

Fresh Air

The Dark Brown Owl and Leaf Pin Set and Whimsy Acorns were the perfect embellishments for my fall layout. The little brown acorn blended in to the background all by itself, so I anchored it with a rust colored argyle button from the Textured Soft Boyish Buttons.

Now that I've decreased my Whimsy stash by eight, I'm off to do a little shopping. I've been having my eye on a couple of things, namely the little green and turquoise bird and the pair of pears. Oh, and the Itty Bitty Cheeseburger, Cookies, and Bats. Ok, maybe not a little shopping. See you next month to show off what I've bought. Hee hee!

My first DT post.......

Hi, it's Stacey here and I am totally thrilled to be here designing with Steph's cuties. For those of you who know my work, know I am addicted to these little embellishments and not many layouts pass where a button or pin doesn't feature!!! So I have a couple of new layouts to share with you today and hope I can inspire you to get out your Whimsy stash and start creating:)

So the first one is of my little niece, Gracie.

"Sweet Cheeks"

Just a couple of closeups. I have used 5 Whimsy embellishments on this one, you know me, the more the merrier...lol!!! I didn't want to overload with closeups on here so here are the cloud buttons........

and here is the super cute cupcake pin and flower button.

My second layout is of my boys having a giggly fun time in there little plastic pool thingy. Lots of handmade bits on this one plus the cute Whimsy's = so much fun to create:)

I used a little Sass to make our fearless leader happy...she's addicted if you haven't noticed. Anything Sassafras will go perfectly with MLBOW embellies because of the bright colors! On this layout I used 1 wee ladybug stickpin in the title, and a few textured buttons sprinkled across my layout!

Bottoms Up

My Little Shoebox is another fabulous paper line to combine with MLBOW embellies! The new textured cloud buttons were just the perfect whimsical touch for my layout!

Hi there Whimsy fans. It's Aphra today with my first design team member post. So excited! Stephanie sent me oodles of Whimsy cuteness. I sorted them into little kits. Popped them into baggies and hung them on my Clip It Up. Nerd. I know! But I kinda had to ration them out to myself. Hee hee! Here's what I came up with this month.

Hello scrappers! My name is Aphra, and I live down South in Louisiana with my Alaskan oil man Jeff and our two boys, Jonathan (10) and Ethan (3). While my husband is tromping around in the Alaskan tundra for weeks at a time, I'm home working part-time at a doctor's office, chasing around two rowdy boys, cleaning up after our miniature dachshund Max, and staying up into the wee hours of the night scrapbooking.

I fell in love with this hobby back in 2000 when my oldest son was born, and I get more and more addicted with each new product release. It's my passion, my creative outlet, my sanity! Mostly, I create layouts of my family, but I also enjoy making cards, gifts, and decor. Honestly, I will use any excuse to get to scrapbook! My Little Blog Hiatus!

Wow! I really didn't intend to neglect the Whimsy Blog for this long :) Its not like I haven't been making new Whimsies or shipping out orders almost every day these last few weeks! I picked up my new computer last week, and I think tonight is the first night I can actually say that I feel the set up/transfer/download etc is "done"....phewww! I didn't realize how many accounts and devices I have connected to my home computer or that I really had THAT MANY photos on my harddrive hehehe

Here are a few Whimsy News items that I've been meaning to post about for the last couple of weeks! First off, kits clubs! MLBOW was featured in two kit clubs this month, one in the US and the other in Sweden!

Lilo from Molly's Scrapbooking contacted me about making some Halloween pins for her kit club...and after 100 bats and 100 pumpkins, I'm Halloweened out! Here is a photo of the kit:

Aphra's lovely Kit Club The Paper Poppy also requested some cute Whimsy Owl Pins for her November Kit:

And I've seen this kit in person, can you say "Jam Packed" full of Scrappy yummies?? I can't wait to play!
